Equine Assisted PsychotherapyEquine Assisted Psychotherapy is an experiential therapy that helps clients change and grow effectively and quickly. These sessions take place with a Certified Equus Coach and a Certified Mental Health Practitioner.
This approach is activity oriented and focuses on the experience happening now to gain insight into behaviour or thoughts. The effectiveness comes from the ability to learn in an informal, indirect situation that is being actively experienced. During and or after the activity, thoughts, feelings, emotions, behaviours, interactions, and insights can be discussed. Horses have the ability to mirror body language and emotions, which is a very effective tool to see what is working and not working in the clients lives. The feedback from the horse is honest and non-judgemental. Please visit www.eagala.org for more information! |
